DAGUPAN CITY, PHILIPPINES — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of a new two-story multi-purpose building in Barangay Bolosan for senior citizens.

In a statement made on Monday, DPWH Ilocos Region communication officer Esperanza Tinaza said, “It can now be used as a venue for recreational and social programs geared at the elderly of the community.”

The structure was constructed, according to Tinaza, by the Pangasinan Second District Engineering Office, which is led by District Engineer Edita Manuel.

“The structure features a pedestrian walk, aluminum glass doors and windows, completely furnished painted walls, electrical work, and a large room that can accommodate over 300 old people at once.” It might also be used to host barangay-sponsored programs and events,” she added.

The PHP1.98 million project, Tinaza claimed, was funded by the General Appropriations Act of 2021, which was completed on February 10.

She went on to say, “It was accomplished in 75 calendar days.”
