CITY OF ILOILO – On Wednesday, the province of Iloilo withdrew its requirement for fully vaccinated individuals arriving from outside Western Visayas to pass a negative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test.

The order was contained in Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr.’s Executive Order No. 40-B, which also prolonged the province’s Alert Level 3 designation until February 28.

Those who have not been inoculated or are not fully vaccinated must nonetheless produce a negative swab test taken 72 hours prior to travel, according to the rule.

“Inbound travel of returning residents and non-residents who are fully vaccinated will be required to present a Covid-19 vaccination certificate, and those who are unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated will be required to present a negative RT-PCR test result issued within 72 hours before travel to the province, except pediatric age group below 5 years old,” according to the EO.

Meanwhile, with the extension of the province’s Alert Level 3 designation, Defensor prolonged the implementation of a liquor prohibition in high-risk establishments as a surge management strategy until February 28 in a separate EO.

According to the Iloilo Provincial Health Office’s February 15 report, the province has 6,986 active cases, 35,370 recoveries, and 1,179 deaths.
