SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique. Vice President Leni Robredo underlined her support for the present administration’s “whole-of-nation” strategy taken by the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).

The presidential candidate for May 2022 visited Antique and courted the province’s 400,000 voters.

“I have no objection (to ELCAC), in fact, I embrace the ‘whole-of-nation approach,'” Robredo said in an interview, adding that what she opposes is the program’s usage for red-tagging.

The NTF-ELCAC was established by President Rodrigo Duterte’s Executive Order 70, which institutionalized the “whole-of-nation approach” to addressing the local communist armed insurgency.

It is a fusion of numerous government organizations organized into 12 clusters, each with its own set of mandates.

Robredo went on to say that in order for the initiative to be effective, former rebels must believe that they are a part of the country’s growth.

The Vice President expressed astonishment at the kind reception she, her running companion Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, and their senatorial candidates received.

Robredo also met the Gerona clan in Antique province, namely in the municipality of Hamtic, who are her kin. The Geronas are mainly thought to be educators.

After winning the election, Robredo and Pangilinan promised a transparent and honest government. Both praised the public for their support, even in earlier surveys.

When Robredo stood for vice president in Antique, she won.

Meanwhile, Antique Vice Governor Edgar Denosta, who introduced Robredo during the campaign event at the Evelio B. Javier (EBJ) Park, said the province has received varied help from her office, with the most recent assistance being 1,000 sacks of rice for the victims of Typhoon Odette.

“Robredo’s support for Antique demonstrates his love for the Antiquenos,” Denosta stated.
