Davao City is currently considered a ‘low risk’ location for Covid-19

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – According to the most recent data, this city is now designated as a “low risk” local government unit (LGU) for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

The optimistic development, according to Dr. Michelle Schlosser, spokeswoman for the Davao City Covid-19 Task Force, was based on risk assessment data from February 19, which showed a “low” two-week growth rate of -84.72 and a “medium” average daily attack rate (ADAR) for the city.

Schlosser, on the other hand, stated that despite the lower number of instances, which could lead to fewer limitations, Dabawenyos must remain vigilant and adhere to minimum public health requirements.

“We must be extremely responsible if we wish to be kept on Alert Level 2 or decreased to Alert Level 1. We must adhere to the basic public health standards as a means of reducing the risk of infection “In a statement, she said.

Schlosser also urged the people to take advantage of the free Covid-19 immunizations and receive a booster dosage to ensure their protection.

The city does not have any critical risk barangays, according to the Covid-19 risk assessment map, but it does have one high-risk village, Barangay Cadalian, with a “medium” two-week growth rate and a “high” ADAR.

As of February 18, city health officials had given out 200,874 booster doses, covering 15.76 percent of those who were fully inoculated.

According to the most recent data, Davao City has provided first doses to 85.14 percent (1,292,623) of the target population (80 percent of the city’s total population) and second doses to 83.31 percent of the target population (80 percent of the city’s total population) (1,264,857).

The population of Davao City will be 1,518,288 in 2022, accounting for 80% of the city’s total population.
