Duterte applauds attempts to make the 5-11 immunization ‘painless.’

MANILA, Philippines β€” President Rodrigo Roa Duterte praised the government’s, local government units, and private sector’s efforts to make vaccinations for children aged 5 to 11 years old “non-traumatic” on Monday.

Duterte also hailed medical experts and other healthcare workers who volunteered to help expand the country’s vaccination program, especially in remote areas, in his prerecorded Talk to the People.

“I’d like to express my gratitude for making this possible. Maraming salamat sa inyo at minsan natuturuan ninyo ang gobyerno ninyo (thank you because you are sometimes teaching the government), each and every one of you “he stated

All Covid-19 vaccines used in the Philippines, according to Duterte, have undergone extensive testing to assure purity, safety, and efficacy.

He also urged fully vaccinated Filipinos to take advantage of the booster vaccinations to acquire further protection against the dangerous Covid-19 and its variations.

To date, 62,505,204 Filipinos have been fully vaccinated, accounting for 69 percent of the government’s goal of 90 million Filipinos by June of this year.

PH is still considered to be a low-risk condition.

According to Health Secretary Francisco Duque III’s report to the President, the Philippines has already gotten over the “hump” of the Omicron form of the Covid-19.

He stated that the country is now classified as a low-risk case, with the exception of the Cordillera Administrative Region, which is still classified as a “moderate risk case.”

Except for the Davao Region, Duque claimed the regions’ healthcare utilization rates are also low risk.

The Department of Health (DOH) recorded 1,427 new Covid-19 cases on Monday, the lowest number of infections in a single day this year.

According to the most recent Covid-19 update, there are 58,657 active cases, with 3,539,106 total recoveries after 3,269 new recovered cases were recorded.

All eligible individuals should obtain their booster doses, according to Duque, “to get additional protection to avert serious sickness and hospitalization.”
