MANILA, Philippines — Foreigners who have registered with the Bureau of Immigration (BI) have until Tuesday to appear at a BI office near them for their yearly report for 2022. (AR).

The annual report time is non-extendible, according to Commissioner Jaime Morente, and failing to comply might result in fines or even deportation.

“Until tomorrow, March 1, all foreigners holding immigrant and non-immigrant visas are urged to report to the nearest BI office for their yearly report,” he stated in a statement.

All BI-registered aliens are expected to file an annual report within the first 60 days of each calendar year under the Alien Registration Act of 1950.

Those aged 14 and under, as well as those aged 65 and above, pregnant women, and people with impairments, are excluded from personally appearing for the AR, according to Morente.

They can appoint a representative or a liaison officer who is accredited by the bureau to register their AR, according to him.

“Those who are exempt may register their AR through an authorized representative or a BI-accredited liaison officer,” the BI head noted.

A total of 130,148 foreign nationals filed their annual report in 2021.
