MANILA, Philippines — The trough of a low-pressure area (LPA) is expected to bring clouds and rainfall to the eastern part of Mindanao on Saturday, according to the weather bureau.

Cloudy skies with sporadic rain showers and thunderstorms would prevail in the Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao areas, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA4 )’s a.m. weather forecast.

Troughs are elongated low-pressure zones that can cause meteorological phenomena like rain and wind.

Partly overcast to cloudy skies are likely to prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country, with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms brought in by easterlies or localized thunderstorms.

Northern Luzon will be blasted by light to moderate east-to-northeast winds, with modest to moderate coastal waters.

Winds will be light to moderate in the rest of the country, blowing northeast to north, with the same coastal sea conditions.

Metro Manila will be 24°C to 32°C; Baguio City will be 14°C to 25°C; Puerto Princesa City will be 26°C to 31°C; Metro Cebu will be 24°C to 30°C; Cagayan de Oro City will be 23°C to 30°C; and Metro Davao will be 24°C to 32°C.
