‘Go Negosyo’ to aid a Cavite entrepreneur selling ‘kangkong’ chips
Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson of the Partido Reporma stated Josh Mojica, a 17-year-old entrepreneur known for his booming “kangkong” (water spinach) chips, will now be assisted by “Go Negosyo” in marketing his products abroad.
This arose as the presidential candidate requested assistance from a body that promotes entrepreneurship in relation to Mojica’s small firm.
“Mr. Joey, Mr. Elmer, baka pwede nating tulungan ang bata kasi napakalaki ng kanyang potential,” Lacson told Go Negosyo creator and Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion and mentor Elmer Relente during the “Kandidatalks” program aired on One PH Wednesday.
“We can’t get rid of requirements. Ang hinihingi ko lang maayudahan, ma-guide ang bata (All I ask is for Josh to be guided properly) “Added he.
Lacson expressed hope that the young entrepreneur’s success can be reproduced during his March 5 visit to Mojica in Mendez, Cavite, but stressed that the government must also play a role in this.
Mojica, who now has 100 employees and suppliers from all over the world, is attempting to market his product in Canada, Japan, and the United Arab Emirates, but has run into issues with various government restrictions, according to him.
“That’s a microcosm of what’s going on around the country,” Lacson explained.
Concepcion, on the other hand, stated that they are willing to assist Josh.
“Kung pwede nyo ibigay ang pangalan ng entrepreneur para kami ang tutulong sa kanya para umunlad ang negosyo niya,” he added, adding that Relente will assist in mentoring Mojica.
Lacson has promised to assist MSMEs that have been struck hard by the epidemic in getting back on their feet.
Comprehensive and targeted fiscal stimulus packages; eviction and foreclosure moratoriums; “lower-interest-bigger-loan” initiatives from state-run financial institutions; and employee-retention incentives to encourage businesses to literally go back to business are among his plans for them.
Lacson also proposes a robust “Made in the Philippines” campaign to encourage people to buy and consume more locally produced goods and services.
