MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected over Mindanao, Visayas, and Palawan due to a low-pressure area (LPA) embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA stated the LPA was 200 kilometers east of Davao City at 3 a.m. in its weather advisory.

According to PAGASA’s Benison Estareja, the LPA’s chances of becoming a tropical depression are quite slim.

In the meantime, easterlies will bring partly overcast to the cloudy sky with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms to Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

During strong thunderstorms, it notified citizens in the impacted areas of the risk of flash floods or landslides.

Northern Luzon will see light to moderate winds from the southeast to northeast, with slight to moderate coastal waters, while the remainder of the country will experience light to moderate winds from the east to northeast, with slight to moderate coastal waters.

The maximum temperature is 33.4 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is 25 degrees Celsius.
