MANILA – The introduction of many Covid-19 variations will always represent a hazard, and it is up to individuals to determine how they will follow precautions and measures to prevent transmissions.

Dr. Nina Gloriani, the chair of the vaccine expert panel, said on Friday that the globe must have learnt to live with the coronavirus sickness 2019 by now.

Dr. Edsel Salvana, a member of the Department of Health’s Technical Advisory Group, previously stated that the Omicron XE might enter the country at any time.

In the event that this occurs, Salvana believes that vaccinations will be the most effective strategy in combating the recombinant form.

The World Health Organization (WHO) previously said that recombinant Covid-19 variations such as the XE Omicron hybrid, XD lineage (a combination of Delta and Omicron variants), and the XE hybrid of Omicron sub-lineages BA.1 and BA.2 are being closely monitored.

The WHO evaluates the severity of the infection, its impact on vaccination performance, and the risk of reinfection.
