Supporters of Ping-Tito are being asked to leave their ‘echo chambers.’
MANILA, Philippines โ Independent presidential candidate Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and running mate Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III urged supporters to start speaking up now to help them persuade voters to vote for the most qualified, competent, and experienced candidates in the May 9 elections.
“Thank you for organizing your ‘Supporters Rally’ and making it happen today, ‘Pure Love,’ ‘True Friends,’ and ‘Lacson Sotto Support Group.’ It’s past time to break the silence. To be heard by the public, get out of your echo chamber. There were no balloons, umbrellas, or props. “Just pure love,” Lacson wrote on Twitter Saturday evening after he and Sotto attended the Quezon Memorial Circle supporters’ rally.
Lacson and Sotto, as well as their families, were greeted enthusiastically by the event’s organizers.
Lacson noted during the gathering that there is still a lot of work to be done with only one month left in the campaign.
He emphasized that supporters can make a difference by persuading their families and neighbors to vote for the candidates who are the most competent, qualified, and experienced.
“Hindi pa natatapos ang ating gagawin,” says the speaker. Marami pa tayong dapat gawin para sa May 9 sa araw ng eleksyon pag uwi natin ngayong gabi. Ating mga kamag-anak at ating mga kapitbahay kasapin natin at sabihin natin sa kanila kung sino ang pinaka-qualified, pinaka-competent at pinaka may karanasan. (Our effort is not yet completed, Senate President Sotto.) We have a lot to do after we get home tonight in order to be ready for May 9. Let us communicate to our families and neighbors and ask them to vote for Senate President Sotto and me),” he stated.
Meanwhile, before their fans at the gathering, Lacson and Sotto reiterated their commitment to good governance by signing a promise for a corruption-free government.
As the situation unfolded, Lacson stated that illuminating and educating people will remain a priority in the campaign’s final weeks.
He also stated that they will persuade Filipino voters to make their decisions based on what they believe are the candidates’ qualities and competence, rather than what the polls suggest.
“We will continue to educate and inform our constituents.” Ang tingnan ang tingnan ang tingnan ang tingnan ang tingnan ang Sino ang kakayahan, sino ang kakayahan, sino ang kakayahan, sino ang kakayahan, sino ang kakayahan, sino ang kakayahan, sino ang kakayahan, yan ang piliin nila. Isipin boboto nila huwag nila baka masayang ang boto (Qualifications, not popularity, should be considered.) “Vote for the candidate who has the competence, experience, and qualifications,” Lacson said at the Pandesal Forum in Quezon City early Saturday. “Get rid of the idea that you will squander your votes just because the competent or qualified candidate is not leading in the polls),” Lacson said.
He claimed that Filipinos have been suffering for a long time as a result of their failure to pick the most qualified people in previous elections and that they need a much-needed break from leadership that will see them through these difficult times.
Lacson and Sotto also stated that they will continue to go straight to the people through discussions.
“We are deserving of nothing less.” We, the Filipinos, have been suffering for a long time. They are in desperate need of a break. “We are contributing our entire expertise, qualification, and experience in order to enhance the lives of our fellow Filipinos,” he stated.
Enforce survey regulations.
For his part, Sotto suggested that the next Congress consider introducing legislation to govern surveys in order to counteract their disproportionate influence on voters’ thinking.
Sotto went on to say that polls do not ensure that a “leading” candidate can free Filipinos from poverty and other issues.
He believes that voters should choose their candidates based on their conscience and discernment.
“Kaisipan ng botante sa atin, konsensya.” When you say “mag-isa ka bumoto sa taong yan,” it means “when you say “mag-isa ka bumoto sa taong yan.” Allow your conscience to lead you (Let your conscience be your guide.) Even if you believe you are the only one who votes for a particular candidate, you will feel good about yourself since you voted according to your conscience),” he said.
Lacson and Sotto, for their part, stated they still had enough energy to keep up with their rigorous schedule.
Lacson plans to rely on adrenaline and vitamins, while Sotto plans to take vitamins, exercise, and pray. But, more crucially, Lacson believes that having a clear conscience will help them stay in the race.
“Magaan ang buhay pag malinis ang konsensya mo.” However, if you have a clear strategy and a clear purpose, palagay ko maski ang taong walang konsensya babagabagin ng konsensya sa gabi (If you have a clear conscience, you will feel much lighter.) But if you’re planning something and have a different goal, even those without consciences will be disturbed at night),” he remarked.
Lacson received only 2% of the vote in a recent Pulse Asia poll, trailing Bongbong Marcos (56%), Vice President Leni Robredo (24%), Isko Moreno Domingo (8%), and Manny Pacquiao (6%), while Sotto is in second place in the vice presidential race with 20% behind frontrunner Sara Duterte (56 percent). Agricultural assistance
Meanwhile, Guillermo Eleazar, a senate candidate on the Lacson-Sotto ticket, has petitioned the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to remove agriculture aid from the election expenditure prohibition.
Eleazar underlined that the rise in petroleum products and other basic necessities has a significant impact on farmers.
“Ang pagbibigay ng ayuda para sa ating mga magsasaka dito sa election spending prohibition should pang i-exempt.” Ang agarang tulong mula sa gobyerno sa kabila ng patuloy na pagtaas ng mga bilihin ngayon kailangan ng ating mga magsasaka ang agarang tulong mula sa gobyerno sa kabila ng patuloy na pagtaas ng mga Due to increasing prices of basic commodities, our farmers urgently require government assistance),” he said in a statement.
Eleazar further stated that the distribution of aid should not be linked to politics because it is a separate issue. The delivery of farm subsidies had been temporarily halted by the Department of Agriculture.
The agency, on the other hand, requested an exemption from the election expenditure ban.
The Comelec had previously permitted the giving of assistance to drivers and operators of public utility vehicles to resume.
