The final installment of the fuel subsidy was made available on Saturday by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board in the Davao Region (LTFRB-11).

While 708 public utility units with blocked or purged cards will obtain new cards, 628 Utility Vehicle Express operators and 5,196 taxi drivers will receive their Pantawid Pasada cards.

Each gasoline subsidy card is worth PHP6,500 and cannot be exchanged for cash; it can only be used for refilling.

LTFRB-11 received PHP138 million from the PHP2.55 billion national budget.

The “Pantawid Pasada” program for the public transportation sector would be decided upon by the Marcos administration, according to LTFRB chairman Martin Delgra III.

“That is what we hope. However, I believe the new leaders won’t ignore the transportation sector’s predicament given the pandemic and fuel surcharge at this moment “Delgra stated in a conversation.

Drivers or operators of cabs, classic and contemporary jeepneys, buses, and tourist vehicles are covered by the fuel subsidy scheme.
