Ilocos Region DepEd records 738K enrollees.
As of August 3, the Policy, Planning, and Research Division of the Department of Education (DepEd) reported 738,212 enrollments in the Ilocos Region.
According to information gathered by the Philippine News Agency on Friday, there are at least 43,205 kindergarten students, 317,268 elementary students, 251,694 junior high students, and 126,045 senior high students enrolled.
Head of the DepEd Ilocos Region Public Affairs Unit Cesar Bucsit stated in an interview that more students are anticipated to enroll since enrollment is still ongoing.
The bulk of classrooms in the area, he claimed, were unaffected by the 7.0 magnitude earthquake, but the DepEd is still keeping an eye on and examining the structural stability of the almost 3,000 schools in the Ilocos Region.
Following the ongoing evaluation of the DepEd-1, according to Bucsit, funding will be given for repairing or replacing the damaged classrooms, restrooms, hand washing stations, and furnishings.
Tolentino Aquino, regional director for DepEd in Ilocos, commended the local leaders and other stakeholders for their support during the most recent Brigada Eskwela.
“Nais nating ipahatid ang pasasalamat sa buong pamayanan sa pakikipagtulungan upang maihanda ang ating mga paaralan para sa ligtas at maayos na pagbabalik ng ating mga mag-aaral, ” the speaker said. (We would like to convey our gratitude to the entire community for the help offered to prepare our schools for a safe and orderly return to school of our students.) Patuloy po naming tatanggapin ang mga tulong nais ninyong iparating para maihatid ang kalidad na edukasyon. In a statement, he stated, “We will continue to appreciate any support you would still provide for the provision of quality education.”
The Brigada Eskwela Plus might be held on any day of the year, he added.
