Government official, attorney, radio commentator, vlogger, and now TikTok creator: Trixie Cruz-Angeles, press secretary.

Cruz-Angeles has formally joined TikTok as @seccruzangeles.

On Monday, she uploaded her first TikTok video, a #GRWM (Get Ready With Me) entry, asking their followers to watch them prepare for a press conference at the palace.

Her most recent TikTok is a recap of the ceremony that took place on Friday at Malacanang Palace in Manila for the swearing-in of new members of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA), the temporary government of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

As of Thursday night, Cruz-Angeles had more than 14,500 followers on TikTok.

She also has Twitter accounts @SecCruzAngeles and @opsgovph, as well as two Facebook sites for the Office of the Press Secretary and Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles. The Facebook page for the Office of the President is also run by her office.

Cruz-Angeles had stated that the government wants to be more “sensitive” to all Filipinos’ concerns.

She stated that the government would be keeping an eye on social media sites to gather prompt reactions from internet users.

Our social media is crucial because it allows us to identify the areas where we need to provide people with the knowledge they require, she continued. “Mahalaga sa amin yung social media namin dahil nakikita namin dito kung ano yung mga larangan,” she said.

Cruz-Angeles also stated that postal delivery of feedback would also be acceptable.

Cruz-Angeles acknowledged in a June radio interview that she was first hesitant to accept her new role since it required “self-discipline” given that she would be speaking on behalf of the President and the government.

She claimed that if she accepted the position, her life would “dramatically change,” but she did not want to pass up the chance to help the country and its citizens.
