OPS developing a “more thorough” feedback mechanism

In order for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s government to be “more responsive” to the needs of the people, the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) is now developing a “more thorough” feedback mechanism.

In a Facebook post on Friday, Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles stated, “At the moment, we continue to build a complete feedback mechanism to allow everyone the voice to reply to our policies and activities.

She said this while recognizing the value of citizen feedback on the operations of state agencies and offices, including the OPS.

Cruz-Angeles stated that part of the OPS’s mandate is to also hear the Filipinos’ sentiments, not just to disseminate information on policies, programs, and accomplishments of the Marcos administration, during her virtual attendance at the Senate Committee on Public Information and Mass Media hearing on Monday.

She claimed that a more effective feedback system would enable the entire government to address the needs of the Filipino people.

She declared, “We want to be more responsiveโ€”not only in OPS but throughout the entire government.”

Cruz-Angeles stated that her office is evaluating the effectiveness of the government-run PTV-4 and Radyo Pilipinas in order to accomplish its goal of fostering citizen engagement.

“The first feedback system that we have for television and radio is our own ratings. When it comes to television and radio, our ratings are our primary form of feedback. Tinitignan po namin nang maigi iyan kung nahihikayat naming makinig ang mga tao doon sa aming mga istasyon. “We’re keeping an eye on if we can persuade people to tune in to our radio and television stations,” she said.

Cruz-Angeles pointed out that the OPS used social media sites to track online users’ reactions.

She presently manages the Twitter feeds @SecCruzAngeles and @opsgovph, as well as two Facebook sites for Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles and the Office of the Press Secretary.

She also uses the @seccruzangeles username on Tiktok.

Additionally, her office oversees the administration of the OP’s official Facebook page.

Cruz-Angeles expressed his thankfulness that the public’s feedback recognized the effectiveness and promptness of government service delivery.

We can see that the reorganization of OPS is paying off, she added. “Nakikita po natin, nagbubunga na po itong pag-organize ng OPS ng iba’t ibang information officers,” she said. “What we are receiving is a public appreciation for our services, especially our prompt distribution of information after the recent earthquake hit the country,” the statement reads.

The now-defunct Presidential Communications Operations Office is reorganized and given the new name OPS by Executive Order (EO) 2, which Marcos signed on June 30.

The state-run PTV-4 and IBC-13 television networks, radio station Radyo Pilipinas, and Philippine News Agency are all subject to OPS supervision, according to EO 2. (PNA).

The Presidential Management Staff is now in charge of Radio Television Malacanang, while the OP is now in charge of the Philippine Information Agency.
