There are now 153 active Covid-19 cases in Agusan Sur.

On Friday, the number of active cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in Agusan del Sur decreased marginally from 161 to 153.

The Provincial Health Office in Agusan del Sur (PHO-ADS) said that as of Friday, the region had 20 recoveries and 12 new illnesses.

The report stated that “the new cases elevated the cumulative total of Covid-19 infections in Agusan del Sur to 16,583 and the new recoveries to 15,992.”

The twelve new cases were distributed among the towns of Rosario, which had four, Bunawan, Prosperidad, and Esperanza, each of which had two, and San Francisco, Bayugan City, and Veruela, which had two.

There have now been 438 deaths in the region that can be attributed to COVID-19.

According to the report, of the 153 ongoing cases, 142 are thought to be local transmissions, while 11 are with close connections or with exposure to people who have tested positive for Covid-19.

However, the PHO-ADS reported that the overall number of recoveries accounts for 96.44 percent of Covid-19 instances registered in the province.
