To promptly provide housing for more Filipinos, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) would actively involve private developers, financial institutions, and local government units (LGUs).

In order to work on DHSUD’s projects to help informal settler families (ISFs) and those residing in risk zones, Secretary Jose Acuzar stated on Monday that he intends to meet with local chief executives across the nation.

“The nation’s housing industry requires significant measures. As a result, we must include all relevant parties in our lobbying for the next administration. That is, to provide millions of Filipinos a place to live,” he added in a statement.

Acuzar claimed that during recent talks, LGU representatives gave the DHSUD their commitment.

He continued, “I do hope that more governors, mayors, and legislators will support DHSUD’s vision for the Filipino people.

In order to optimize the utilization of public property for housing purposes, the DHSUD chief has so far shared methods with the mayors of Pasig City, Vico Sotto, and Representative Roman Romulo; Malabon City, Jeannie Sandoval and Vice Mayor Ninong Dela Cruz; and Caloocan City, Dale Malapitan.

“We consider the role of LGUs to be one of the essential elements in addressing or even ending the issues we face in the housing industry. They are our partners in growth, Acuzar declared.
