Kin of five deceased Bulacan rescuers receives cash assistance from PAGCOR.
The families of the five rescue workers who died in the line of duty last week during the height of Super Typhoon Karding in Malolos, Bulacan, have received financial support from PAGCOR in the amount of PHP100,000.
In honor of the bravery displayed by Narciso Calayag, Jr., Jerson Resurreccion, Marby Bartolome, George Agustin, and Troy Justin Agustin, PAGCOR presented the financial assistance on Friday.
On September 25, the victims perished in floodwater while helping others.
The state-run gaming company collaborated with the Bridges of Benevolent Initiative Foundation, Inc. (BBFI), the charitable arm of The Midori Clark Casino run by BB International Leisure and Resort Development Corp. (BBI), in aiding typhoon victims in the provinces of Bulacan and Pampanga in addition to giving financial support to the families of the five deceased rescue workers.
300 households in Hagonoy, Bulacan, also received aid, as did the recipients in the Pampanga towns of San Miguel and Sto. Nio, who each received 400 and 150 food assistance packs, respectively. Rice, instant noodles, coffee, and canned items were included in each assistance package.
As of September 30, 2022, PAGCOR and its licensees had given out 4,700 relief packages in various Luzon regions hit by the recent typhoon, and they planned to give out more packages in the days to come.
