PNP and AFP strengthen their partnership to protect law and order
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) have reaffirmed their dedication to upholding the nation’s law and order.
During Monday’s flag-raising ceremonies at the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City, Vice Adm. Rommel Anthony SD Reyes, the AFP’s deputy chief-of-staff, was welcomed by PNP chief Gen. Rodoldo Azurin Jr.
Speaking and serving as guest-of-honor, Reyes stressed the value of collaboration and coordination between the two organizations as essential components of our nation’s security, stability, and growth framework.
He continued by saying that the PNP and AFP play significant roles in community development, disaster relief, and national security.
Reyes also discussed the love for serving others and being a force for good that has driven him for more than three decades in the military.
On January 25, 2015, or eight years ago, Reyes also used the occasion to honor the courage and bravery of the 44 members of Special Action Force (SAF), also known as SAF 44.
He declared that he is standing with the whole PNP in honoring these warriors who gave their lives to ensure the accomplishment of their mission.
They will never be forgotten, and history has recorded their names. so that their names would be remembered by present and future generations of troops and police. I now give my heartiest tribute to the 44 SAF personnel and their families, who serve as an inspiration to us as we continue to overcome obstacles in order to protect our dear country and fellow Filipinos, said Reyes.
The AFP official urged everyone to uphold the shared principles and common ideals of their respective institutions.
“Honor embraces all that the AFP and PNP stand for. This is done in order to uphold and model the values of respect, obligation, loyalty, selflessness, and personal bravery while we carry out our responsibilities as public employees. Let’s strive to be role models for our own children and their offspring. In order to serve God, our nation, and the people, let’s all work together to achieve our purpose, Reyes said.
As the PNP and AFP prepare for the difficulties ahead, Azurin also urged togetherness.
Additionally, calls are made for the continuous support of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
Azurin and Reyes oversaw the recognition of PNP employees who had made noteworthy contributions.
The recipients of the Medalya ng Kagalingan (PNP Medal of Merit) include Lieutenant Colonel Victor Ben Isidore Aclan, Lieutenant Ace Vergel Geoso, Senior Master Sergeant Hermogenes Tapangco Jr., Corporal Gilbert Piedad, and Patrolman Joferd Rotarla from Police Regional Office 4-A.
