To help MSMEs, NegOcc opens P37-M facilities.

The provincial government of Negros Occidental here announced on Tuesday facilities valued at PHP37 million that will help the province’s MSMEs.

The Technology and Livelihood Development Center (TLDC), shared service facility (SSF), and organic post located inside the province’s Food Terminal Market complex along the North Capitol Road were inaugurated by Capitol officials, led by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson.

The TLDC will be crucial in providing our farmers and MSMEs with help, according to Lacson.

According to him, the province would support these businesses in terms of product development, market networking, linkages, and promotion, as well as exposure, participation in trade shows, and other business prospects.

“We must do more than just provide Negrenses with doors of opportunity. We have to help them reach their maximum potential “said Lacson.

He stated that MSMEs, which make up 99.5% of commercial establishments, are regarded as the primary source of economic expansion, employment, and the eradication of poverty.

“This initiative is part of our vision and ambition to effectively implement an inclusive and sustainable economic recovery,” Lacson stated. “Its focus is on rebuilding the resilience and increasing the skills of the Negrense MSMEs.

Food items and handicrafts produced by MSMEs from numerous local government units, including this capital city, are offered for sale at the TLDC.

A permanent outlet for the output of organic farmers is a feature of the facility.

The SSF, which has shared systems for machinery, equipment, tools, systems, skills, and knowledge, is also housed in the same facility.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II said the province would choose a consignment arrangement or percentage cost sharing with the MSMEs rather than charging fees for using the SSF.

“We will endeavor to have the SSF-produced goods approved by the Food and Drug Administration. Then, we may sell these in supermarkets and other locations across the nation “Added he.
