The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is still assisting local government units (LGUs) that have been impacted by Typhoon Odette.

According to the organization’s Monday report, PHP8.4 million in humanitarian aid was supplied to Regions 6, 8, 10, 11, Mimaropa, and Caraga.

During President Rodrigo Duterte’s visit to the Caraga Region on Saturday, the DSWD handed an additional 35,000 family food packs alongside DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista and Senator Bong Go (FPPs).

Initially, the Philippine Navy and Montenegro Shipping Lines sent 5,000 FFPs each to the Dinagat Islands and Siargao.

The presidential yacht BRP Ang Pangulo will also deliver 1,212 hygiene kits, 1,000 food packs, 300 rolls of laminated sacks, and other non-food goods such as family kits, sleeping kits, and collapsible water containers to Siargao.

Odette impacted almost 452,000 families, or 1.8 million people, in Regions 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, Mimaropa, and Caraga.

In the impacted areas, around 109,000 families, or around 438,000 people, are still housed in 2,481 evacuation facilities.

The DSWD stated that it has enough relief items to distribute to affected areas.

It currently has stocks and reserve funds totaling PHP944 million, as well as more than 377,000 FFPs stockpiled in strategic places across the country.
