In January, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) nabbed 996 people on the run.

“The 996 wanted people detained were mostly made up of 301 most wanted people, 32 districts wanted people, 269 stations wanted people, and 394 other wanted people,” NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said in a statement Monday night.

Danao stated the Manila Police District had the most wanted persons arrested out of the five NCRPO districts, with 373 arrests — 138 of them were most wanted, 26 districts wanted persons, 112 stations wanted persons and 97 other wanted persons.

The Southern Police District has 318 officers, the Northern Police District has 174, and the Eastern Police District has 108.

Meanwhile, the Quezon City Police District had the fewest number of wanted people captured, with only 23 — six most wanted people, six-station wanted people, and 11 others.

“Despite this achievement, we must not rest on our laurels and must be more aggressive in carrying out our ongoing battle against wanted persons. Let us all work together to ensure that justice is done and that these individuals are brought before the court to answer for the charges that have been brought against them “Danao remarked.
