The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) expects Vybe, its newest lifestyle, and payment app, to receive 2.8 million downloads by year’s end.

Frederick Faustino, head of BPI Digital Partnerships and Ecosystems, stated in a virtual briefing on Wednesday that only BPI online users can download the app.

Because the app has numerous value propositions, we anticipate that at least half of our 5.6 million app users will download it. It houses our rewards program in addition to the payment wallet for our BPI clients, according to Faustino.

One benefit, he claimed, is that Vybe users who have credit cards issued by BPI can check their rewards.

Faustino is hopeful that even non-BPI depositors will download the app the next year because it offers benefits to customers each time they use it to make a payment.

As long as a person has a mobile phone number and would use his name for proper authentication, he claimed, they can download the program.

The newest app, according to Faustino, is designed for micropayments with transaction values between PHP200 and PHP500.

A maximum of PHP30,000 can be kept in the mobile wallet.

The reasoning behind this is that you won’t put as much money in it if you only intend to utilize it or keep it as a wallet. He continued, you’ll probably deposit your funds in your BPI deposit account.
