For Lanao Norte, the DSWD allots a P26.7 million “cash for work” budget.

This year, the Cash for Work (CFW) program in the province of Lanao del Norte would receive PHP26.7 million from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Racma Arumpac-Dimatibang, the DSWD point person, stated in a statement on Tuesday that the money will be distributed to the 6,610 beneficiaries who have been identified and approved by the provincial government. They will earn PHP4,050 apiece for a period of ten days’ of employment.

According to this year’s standards, which the DSWD central office recently announced, “the daily wage of the recipients was increased from 378 per day to 405 per day,” she explained.

The CFW program offers temporary employment to those who are in need and assigns them to perform various community tasks including cleaning and others involved in disaster mitigation, risk reduction, and rehabilitation.

Dimatibang claimed that the agency’s “Implementation Guidance for the Risk Resiliency Program” for this year has also been discussed with Governor Imelda Dimaporo.

In the meantime, the DSWD Region 10 warehouse in Lanao del Norte has continued to supply both food and non-food items.

The additional food and non-food items, according to Ronald Ryan Cui, Assistant Director for Operations at DSWD-10, arrived quickly and in good condition thanks to Carlito Galvez Jr., Secretary of the National Defense, who asked the Armed Forces of the Philippines to assist the DSWD in transporting the relief supplies.

As of Tuesday, there were 2,069 kitchen kits, 1,662 sleeping kits, and 961 family food packs in the total amount of unloaded food and non-food items.
