The three-day Travel Explore Expo (TTE), which officially began on Friday, aims to entice more residents and visitors from abroad to tour the nation with budget-friendly travel offers and packages.

The Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA), which organizes the exhibition, hopes to draw at least 80,000 people this year.

Travel is “finally coming back to its pre-pandemic level,” according to PTAA President Michelle Taylan, who attributed recent tourism developments primarily to retaliation travel and pent-up demand.

Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco concurred in a rehearsed address that the post-pandemic phenomena had given the industry a “strong start” in recovery.

2.65 million foreign visitors, about twice the initial objective of 1.7 million, were brought in by the nation in 2022 alone, exceeding targets.

Additionally, demand for domestic travel is still rising, particularly since the government loosened its limitations.

We plan to welcome 4.8 million visitors this year, so this expo is essential. We have lofty goals for 2023, but I have no doubt that we can achieve them with the support of our fellow Filipinos and the PTAA, said Frasco.

The TTE, which takes place from February 3 to 5, will feature a number of exhibitors representing airlines, travel agencies, cruise lines, hotels, food concessionaires, and other travel-related businesses.

Discounted international vacations are also available during the event in addition to domestic travel offers.
