Bloomberg said on Sunday, citing unnamed sources, that the US administration of US President Joe Biden intends to implement more sanctions and export control measures targeting Russia’s energy and defense sectors.

The future limitations will reportedly apply to Russia’s energy and defense industries, as well as to a number of people and financial institutions. In addition, the United States is anticipated to take action to impede efforts by third parties to circumvent the anti-Russian sanctions.

Ahead of the anniversary of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine, the United States and its Group of Seven partners intended to impose new limitations, according to earlier comments made by US Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland.

The restrictions would apply to high-tech equipment and technology supply to the Russian defense industry, according to Nuland. She added that anybody who enables the Russian government in carrying out the special military operation and evading the current restrictions would also be the focus of the sanctions.

Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, previously stated that his country is dealing with the pressure of ongoing sanctions from hostile nations.
