Via its Business One Stop Shop, Taguig’s city government revealed on Wednesday that it had received PHP4.38 billion in business taxes in January (BOSS).

Compared to the PHP3.21 billion total collection in January of the previous year, this is up to PHP1.17 billion. Every year, business taxes are typically collected in January.

This accomplishment may be due to a new system that Mayor Lani Cayetano ordered that made it simple, quick, and accurate for company owners to apply for permits and pay taxes.

“The payment of barangay fees was merged by the City Treasurer’s Office and the Business Permits & License Office. Company owners were no longer required to obtain separate barangay approvals, “Added a statement was made.

Tes Veloso, the head of the Business Permits and Licensing Office, noted that new procedures for receiving taxpayer applications had been introduced, leading to fewer requirements and quicker and easier processing of permits.

Business owners might process business permits at two convenient locations under BOSS 2023: the recently opened Convention Center at the New City Hall Building and the SM Aura Satellite Office.

Business owners can either print their own permits after their applications have been granted or have them couriered to them. Also, users of the new system can see their billing statements online.

Cayetano congratulated the business owners for operating in Taguig and paying taxes, noting that Taguigeos receive benefits and services in exchange for these fees.

In the meantime, Voltaire Enriquez, the city treasurer, reported a significant improvement in BOSS’s overall performance and customer satisfaction, as well as in the collection of taxes:

There was no urgency to make the deadline, and there were no angry consumers complaining. “Payment and release were quick; taxpayers did not line up till midnight to settle their taxes or wait for their business licenses,” he stated. (
