The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) charity fund released more than PHP818 million in 2022 to help its beneficiaries, which included families, local government units (LGUs), and government hospitals all around the nation.

Cua pointed out that the figure represents an increase of 716 percent from 2021.

According to the PCSO’s year-end report, various programs, including the Institutional Partnership Program, Endowment Fund Program, Medical Transport Vehicle Donation Program, Medical Equipment Donation Program, Calamity Assistance Program, Outpatient Services, Medicine Donation Program, Medical and Dental Mission, and Employees’ Consultation and Management, provided the aid.

According to a previous statement from the PCSO, it provided more than PHP2 billion in assistance to 255,520 destitute and financially unable people last year through its flagship Medical Access Program (MAP).

In collaboration with public and private hospitals, healthcare facilities, and drugstores, the MAP offers assistance.

The program covers confinement, erythropoietin (dialysis injection), chemotherapy medications, specialty medications, hemodialysis, laboratory (blood chemistry), diagnostic, and imaging procedures, as well as implant/medical device services.
