From February 27 to March 5, the average number of new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) across the nation climbed by 10%, according to a study released on Monday by the Department of Health (DOH).

According to the most current DOH case bulletin, daily illnesses went from 119 to 130 from February 20 to 26.

The DOH also recorded 913 new cases and 56 verified deaths between February 27 and March 5.

Six of the extra fatalities happened between February 20 and March 5.

Around 4.08 million coronavirus illnesses and more than 66,153 fatalities have been reported in the nation thus far.

The number of serious and critical infections increased from 370 to 395 within the same period.

While just 13.3% or 263 of the 1,978 beds in the intensive care unit (ICU) are being used, 16.8% or 2,840 of the 16,871 non-ICU beds are being used.

As of March 5, 73,889,558 people, or 94.61 percent of the target population for the nation (78,100,578), had received a Covid-19 vaccination, including 79.49 percent of 8,721,357 seniors.

Of the population that has received all of the recommended vaccinations, 21,577,728 people have received booster doses.
