Tuesday saw the beginning of construction on the PHP11.5 million Super Health Center, according to Mati City Mayor Michelle Rabat.

The contemporary medical facility, according to Rabat, intends to improve access to primary care services and is in line with the executive-legislative goal of the city, which pledges to provide everyone with affordable, high-quality healthcare.

In an interview, she remarked, “This mega health center is a great addition to our public health care to our people and even to our surrounding towns.

The facility will act as a medium-sized polyclinic and provide a variety of services, such as outpatient care, dental care, minor surgery, and laboratory testing.

It will be situated on a 1,920-square-meter site in Sitio Magapo, Barangay Central.

The building portion of the budget is allotted PHP6.5 million, and the equipment portion is allotted PHP5 million.

The second phase of the project will also receive PHP5 million from the Department of Health in the Davao Region (DOH-11).

For making this possible, Rabat added, “We thank you Senator Bong Go and the DOH-11. We will give our support and cooperation to make this a reality and be able to sustain it for years in the service of our Matinians.

She predicted that the building will be finished in three to four months.
