DAR provides 296 ARBs in North Cotabato with land titles.
In Pigcawayan, North Cotabato, 296 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) have received Certificates of Land Ownership Awards (CLOAs) from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).
ARBs of Barangay Payong-payong, an upland agricultural community in the municipality, were given 272 CLOAs totaling 696.3 hectares on March 17 during the distribution activity, according to provincial agrarian reform program officer Evangeline Bueno.
In order to bring the government closer to the people, Bueno added, “We are doing our best to expedite the distribution of lands as directed by Secretary Conrado Estrella III and to offer them support services.
She declared that the area’s support services will be improved in order to build the ARBs’ capacities and provide them with enterprise development and economic support interventions to raise their output, income, and standard of living.
Beneficiary Pakir Pasawiran showed joy at obtaining his land title, which he views as a “treasure,” at the distribution.
Pasawiran was quoted in the DAR release as stating, “The land title is very essential to us since it is proof that we can tell anyone that we are the absolute owner of the land.
In the meantime, the recipients were reminded of their duties by Municipal Agrarian Reform Officer (MARPO) Maricel Bona, including paying taxes, amortizing their land, and not selling or leasing their lands.
