Elon Musk, a tech entrepreneur, announced that he is developing artificial intelligence (AI) to compete with the ChatGPT program backed by Microsoft and to offer a safer alternative.

In a Monday interview with Fox News, he said, “I’m going to start something that I call TruthGPT, or a maximum truth-seeking AI that tries to understand the nature of the universe. I think this might be the best path to safety in the sense that an AI that cares about understanding the universe is unlikely to annihilate humans because we are hopefully an interesting part of the universe.

In comparison to, say, poorly managed aircraft design, factory maintenance, or subpar vehicle production, he remarked, “AI is possibly more dangerous.” “It has the capacity to destroy civilizations.”

The current front-runner in the race to develop artificial intelligence is OpenAI’s ChatGPT. In 2015, Musk contributed to the group’s founding and funding. He remained on the board of the company until his departure in 2018.

Musk bemoaned the partnership between OpenAI and Microsoft, claiming that it is “not clear” whether ChatGPT is “actually doing well” and that it is being “trained to be politically correct, which is just another way of saying untrue things.”

“I really put a lot of effort into creating this organization to serve as a counterweight to Google,” the man stated. “And after that, I guess I kind of lost focus, and they turned closed source. Additionally, they are blatantly for-profit, tightly allied with Microsoft, and as a result, Microsoft effectively controls them at this time if not directly.
