CDO launches online application for law and medical school scholarships
An online scholarship application for law and medical school was made available by the local government on Tuesday.
In a statement, Mayor Rolando Uy said he sees a need for more lawyers and doctors who, after earning their degrees, will help underprivileged neighborhoods.
The local government has published the instructions for those who are eligible to apply for the scholarships on its official Facebook page and website.
Generally speaking, suitable candidates must be city residents, be under 35, and have a maximum yearly family income of PHP450,000.
For any partner institution that offers a law degree, the local government will cover the full cost of tuition and matriculation; however, for medical school, scholars may only enroll in government partner institutions.
Since the previous year, the city government has made the scholarships for law and medical school one of its main initiatives.
