The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) signed an agreement on Monday to offer employees a cost-effective health screening program.

The memorandum of agreement (MOU) was signed at the MMDA headquarters in Makati City by PhilHealth – National Capital Region (NCR) vice president Bernadette Lico, general manager Undersecretary Procopio Lipana, and MMDA acting chair Don Artes.

As part of the agreement, the MMDA will ensure that the MMDA medical clinic is accredited as one of the program’s medical providers and oversee the KonSulta program’s execution for its personnel.

The MMDA clinic will offer preventative health services like health screenings and evaluations after it has been accredited.

He remarked, “We commend PhilHealth-NCR for their KonSulta Program, which provides affordable healthcare services.

By the provisions of Republic Act No. 11223 or the Universal Health Care Act, PhilHealth’s KonSulta program primary care benefit package offers preventive care, including consultations, health risks screening and assessment, 13 laboratory tests, and 21 maintenance pills and medicines.

A complete blood count with platelet count, urinalysis, fecalysis, sputum microscopy, fecal occult blood, pap smear, lipid profile, oral glucose tolerance test, fasting blood sugar, EKG, chest x-ray, creatinine, and hemoglobin A1c test is among the laboratory tests available.
