On Friday, the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System-Corporate Office (MWSS-CO) participated in the hospital gift handover event “Maging Ligtas, Mag #Safewash” hosted at the MWSS Multipurpose Hall.

The MWSS-CO was represented at the occasion by Jonathan Lamug, Acting Department Manager for Policy, Planning, and Public Relations.

The Manila Water Foundation (MWF) and Procter & Gamble Safeguard Philippines together planned the event to distribute hand soaps to government hospitals and primary healthcare facilities in the East Zone concession area.

In his remarks, Lamug praised the MWF’s initiatives and claimed that they had significantly advanced the realization of the fundamental right of all people to access clean water.

To promote the improvement and rehabilitation of water supply systems in Barangays Magsaysay in Infanta and Barangay Pagsanghan in General Nakar, both in the province of Quezon, he emphasized the cooperative efforts of the MWSS and the Integrated WASH program team of the MWF.

“The MWSS-CO upholds a steady and unwavering commitment to assisting programs like the Integrated WASH program that seeks to enhance the standard of living for communities throughout the Philippines. We are committed to using our resources and skills to promote a country where everyone has access to clean, safe, and potable water because we believe in the transforming power of water and sanitation, according to Lamug.

The Philippine General Hospital and other important government hospitals and primary healthcare facilities were represented at the occasion.
