For seafarers, June 25 offers free LRT-2 and MRT-3 rides

On June 25, in honor of the Day of the Filipino Seafarer, seafarers can travel the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) and Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) for free.

Free rides on the LRT-2 are available from 7 am to 9 am and 5 pm to 7 pm.

Free rides on the MRT-3 are available starting at 5:30 am and continue until the rail line closes for the day.

The Maritime Industry Authority posted on Facebook, “We remind seafarers to show their valid SRB or SID to avail of the free rides. Pinapaalalahan po ang lahat ng marino na ipakita lamang ang inyong valid na Seafarer’s Record Book (SRB) o kaya’y Seafarer’s Identity Document (SID).

While the MRT-3 follows a section of Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue from North Avenue in Quezon City to Taft Avenue in Pasay City, the LRT-2 travels from Recto in Manila to Antipolo City in Rizal.
