On Sunday, the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) distributed funds to at least 4,357 inhabitants from two towns and a city in Surigao del Sur.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development in the Caraga Region (DSWD-13) and Sen. Imee Marcos’ office helped make the AICS distribution possible.

Some PHP13 million worth of payments were made available during the payout activities, with each beneficiary receiving PHP3,000.

2,600 recipients came from Tago town, 841 from Cortes town, and 916 from Tandag City.

As he oversaw the relief distribution in Tandag City on Monday, Gov. Alexander Pimentel issued a statement thanking DSWD-13 and Sen. Marcos for releasing the funding.

I applaud the DSWD-13 for making this payout possible, including the confirmation process and the Sunday release, Pimentel stated.

Meanwhile, the local government of Tandag City emphasized the DSWD-13’s and Sen. Marcos’ office’s ongoing dedication to meeting the needs of society’s most vulnerable citizens.

“The AICS payout will help the beneficiaries from their financial burdens by providing them with the needed assistance during these difficult times,” the local administration stated.

It further stated that the AICS program promotes social cohesiveness and guarantees that no one is left behind.
