According to a study conducted by the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) and released on Monday, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) is deemed “safe and secured” in terms of security and investment.

The comprehensive results of the BARMM component in the Mindanao Trust, Respect, Safety, and Satisfaction (MTRSS) study reveal the following key findings: trust (91% – very high), respect (92% – very high), safety (88% – very high), and satisfaction (91% – very high). Dr. Adrian Tamayo, MinDA’s Public Relations Chief, presented these results to officials from the Philippine Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR).

“These are more than just data or scorecards. They represent the new narratives that we need to communicate to the public, especially our international partners collectively,” Tamayo emphasized.

MinDA Secretary Maria Belen Acosta regarded the findings as a “very good indicator” that Mindanao is indeed safe and poised for investment.

“When we invite investors who require statistical evidence, we can present them with a high level of trust in Mindanao. Comparatively, our trust index surpasses other parts of the Philippines,” she explained.

Col. Rodolfo Inoy Jr., Chief of PRO-BAR’s Community Affairs and Development Division, expressed appreciation for the BARMM study results and recommendations, recognizing their value as baseline evidence for assessing the overall police service in the region.

“The study offers PRO-BAR a comprehensive discussion and recommendations that aim to reshape the narrative of the Bangsamoro region, highlighting its realism, peace, and positivity,” he added.

Inoy also proposed collaborating with MinDA to develop a tool for enhancing and analyzing the police services of PRO-BAR in the communities throughout the region.
