Marcos admin prioritizes job creation and MSME assistance to uplift Filipinos’ lives ๐๐ผ
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. reaffirmed the government’s commitment to assisting Filipinos and improving their quality of life. During the distribution of government aid in Northern Samar, the President emphasized the administration’s focus on supporting micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
“We are here to ensure that those who have faced setbacks, who have been heavily affected, those who have depleted their savings and closed their businesses, those who are struggling to recoverโthose are the ones we are seeking to help because they are the backbone of our economy, the small businesses, the MSMEs,” said the President.
Marcos expressed the government’s determination to revitalize and rejuvenate the MSME sector, assuring cooperatives of government support. He oversaw the distribution of assistance from various departments, including the Department of Agriculture (DA), the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
As the concurrent Agriculture Secretary, President Marcos witnessed the turnover of agricultural machinery and equipment, rice seeds, livelihood projects, and fishing-related resources. He also provided financial aid to farmer-beneficiaries in Northern Samar and delivered scholarships and medical assistance to deserving individuals.
Additionally, the President attended the “Kadiwa ng Pangulo” event, which offers farmers and fisherfolk a direct market to sell their quality and affordable agri-fishery commodities to consumers. The Marcos administration has successfully organized numerous Kadiwa activities, generating significant sales and benefiting households, farmers’ cooperatives, and agri-fishery enterprises.
President Marcos visited a job fair organized by DOLE to support employment opportunities, where local employers showcased available vacancies. Special frontline services were provided by DTI, DA, PSA, Social Security System, Pag-IBIG Fund, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
Recent data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) indicated an increase in employment, with around 48.26 million Filipinos employed as of May 2023 compared to 46.08 million in the same period last year.
With a strong focus on job creation and MSME assistance, the Marcos administration aims to empower individuals and contribute to the overall development and prosperity of the nation.
