The Department of Justice (DOJ) said on Wednesday that the number of verified coronavirus illnesses among its employees had risen to 141 so far this month.

The amount may be divided down into 136 current cases and five recoveries, according to Justice Undersecretary Emmeline Aglipay-Villar in an update.

There are 59 cases from the Department of Justice’s main office in Manila, 61 cases from DOJ offices across the National Capital Region, one case from the Inter-Agency Council against Trafficking Operations center, two cases from the Witness Protection Program office, one case from the DOJ Ilocos regional office, ten cases from Central Luzon, and seven cases from Calabarzon and Mimaropa.

Since the pandemic began in 2020, the number of confirmed infections among DOJ employees has risen to 994.

In 2020 and 2021, the number of DOJ employees infected with coronavirus was 103 and 750, respectively.

Vaccination against coronavirus sickness has been administered to nearly all of the company’s 6,254 employees across the country (Covid-19).

In the wake of a spike in coronavirus infections across the country, Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra previously stated that the department intends to revert to a smaller on-site workforce in the coming days.

Malacanang published a memorandum circular (MC) last week outlining the standards and processes for lowering the on-site staff at government offices below the Alert Level System’s minimal threshold (ALS).

On Wednesday, 32,246 additional infections were reported in the country, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 3,058,634.

There were 2,797,816 recoveries, 208,164 active cases, and 52,654 fatalities in total.
