Starting Nov. 17, healthcare workers will receive booster shots.

Starting November 17, fully immunized health care workers can receive their third dosage or booster shot of the Covid-19 vaccine, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

Regardless of the brand used in the primary series, the DOH suggested Moderna, Pfizer, and Sinovac as booster doses in a public alert posted Monday night.

The National Vaccine Operations Center, according to the Department of Health, will provide booster shot guidelines on November 16.

While the use of a third dose has yet to be approved for the general public pending the results of research, health experts say all of the vaccines continue to give substantial protection against Covid-19-related serious illness, hospitalization, and death.

The Food and Drug Administration in the United States has approved booster doses for adults who are at high risk of severe Covid-19 as a result of underlying medical disorders, as well as health care personnel.
