Vico Sotto, the mayor of Pasig City, has been diagnosed with coronavirus illness (Covid-19) and is currently undergoing isolation.

Sotto stated he has a sore throat, fever, and body aches in a social media post on Saturday night.

He told his supporters that he will continue to work remotely for the following seven days while in isolation.

Sotto warned the public about the Covid-19’s current threat, particularly the Omicron form.

“Ang pagkalat ng Omicron ay matindi talaga—sabi nga ng ibang eksperto, lahat tayo ay mae-expose sa variation na ito. As a result, kaya lagi po tayong mag-iingat, palakasin natin ang ating mga resistensya, at maging responsible—kung may sintomas wag na munang lumabas (The Omicron variant is quite widespread—as some experts claim, we will all be exposed to this variant). So let’s constantly be cautious, build our resistance, and be responsible (if you have symptoms, don’t go out) “Sotto said.

Pasig had 3,640 active Covid-19 cases as of Friday, bringing the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the city to 65,756 since the pandemic began in March 2020.
