Batanes is rocked by a 5.2 magnitude earthquake.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) detected a magnitude 5.2 earthquake in Batanes early Wednesday.
At 3:10 a.m., a tectonic quake struck 31 kilometers northeast of Itbayat. It was 14 kilometers deep.
According to the earthquake advisory provided at 3:20 a.m., no reported intensities have been registered.
The magnitude 5.2 tremor may cause damage, but aftershocks are possible, according to Phivolcs.
The damage begins at Intensity VI on Phivolcs’ scale.
