2.3 million people have been displaced by ‘Odette,’ according to the NDRRMC.
More than a month after Typhoon Odette slammed through several parts of the Visayas and Mindanao, the total number of families affected has risen to 2,336,249 people.
The agency said in a statement posted on Wednesday that this equates to 8,329,076 people.
In Mimaropa, Bicol, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Davao area, Soccsksargen, Caraga, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, 8,910 families are affected (BARMM).
Families still within the 1,170 evacuation facilities are counted at 58,511, while those aided outside are counted at 32,842 and the rest are helped by family and friends.
According to “Odette,” 87 people have died, 193 have been injured, and six have gone missing.
Reports of 319 killed, 1,072 injured, and 59 missing people are still being verified.
In Mimaropa, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Davao area, Soccsksargen, Caraga, and BARMM, 1,369,433 dwellings were damaged.
1,024,783 were classified as moderately damaged, while 344,650 were rated as completely damaged.
