The shear line and the trough of a low-pressure area (LPA) may generate scattered rain showers in several parts of the country, according to the weather bureau.

“The LPA is located outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility and is a long way away (PAR). It has a minimal possibility of making it to PAR, but its trough is currently hitting Mindanao’s southeastern region “Aldczar Aurelio of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

Over the Davao area, Surigao del Sur, Sarangani, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi, scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected.

Due to the sheer line, the same meteorological conditions will prevail in Bicol, Mimaropa, Aklan, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Samar.

“Be on the lookout for potential flooding and landslides,” Aurelio advised.

The northeast monsoon will bring isolated precipitation to Metro Manila and the remainder of Luzon, according to Aurelio.

Localized thunderstorms will provide isolated rain showers to the rest of the country.

Over Luzon, the Eastern Visayas, and Mindanao, moderate to high winds and moderate to rough seas will dominate.

Strong winds will be felt along the northern coast of northern Luzon and the eastern coast of Bicol due to the northeast monsoon. Larger sea vessels are warned of strong waves, while fishing boats and other small sea vessels are cautioned not to enter into the water.

Winds will be light to moderate elsewhere, with modest to moderate seas.
