The number of people who have recovered from the coronavirus illness in 2019 (Covid-19) in the region has now reached 50,172, according to the Department of Health in Caraga (DOH-13).

“The total recoveries account for 88.4 percent of the 56,761 Covid-19 infections in Caraga, with 169 additional cases reported on Tuesday,” according to the DOH-13.

As of Wednesday, there were 4,631 active cases in the region, accounting for 8.2 percent of all cases, with 1,958 deaths reported, according to the agency.

According to DOH-13, 49.70 percent of active cases in the region are asymptomatic, 44.37 percent have mild symptoms, and the remaining instances are either moderate or severe.

As the number of infections continues to rise, the DOH-13 announced that only 20% of the region’s 425 total isolation beds and 35% of its 45 ICU beds were still available.

It went on to say that 36 percent of the 277 total ward beds in the region’s isolation facilities are still available.

As of January 30, a total of 1,265,442 people in Caraga had been fully vaccinated, accounting for 43.72 percent of the total vaccination target population.

The DOH-13 has so far distributed 2,620,978 Covid-19 vaccinations.
