Residents in the so-called geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAS) will be vaccinated by medical personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) during the three-day national vaccination days from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1.

Col. Fatima Claire Navarro, the AFP Surgeon General, stated in a radio interview on Sunday that 25 medical teams from several AFP unified commands will be deployed, in addition to the 37 additional teams tasked with providing manpower support to civilian medical units.

The crews would also transport medical supplies and materials for use in the immunization campaign, according to Navarro.

The “Bayanihan Bakunahan” national vaccination days intend to administer 9 million vaccines or a daily national throughput target of 3 million doses.

The government has scheduled a three-day immunization drive from Dec. 15 to 17 to fulfill the objective of entirely inoculating 54 million Filipinos by the end of the year.
