Dairy farmers can use DA-provided delivery vans.
The Philippine Carabao Center (DA-PCC) of the Department of Agriculture continues to improve the lives of dairy farmers by providing cars to transport their products.
The DA-PCC said on Monday that it will deliver motorcycles and tri-wheels to selected cooperative members through the Carabao-based Business Improvement Network (CBIN) project.
Regional offices will be in charge of car distribution.
The DA-PCC stated, “It is in support of effective transportation of carabao farmers’ milk from the farm to the processing facility to avoid spillage.”
The DA-PCC and its sponsors have previously created facilities that help carabao producers and by-product entrepreneurs improve their performance.
In March 2021, the University of Southern Mindanao’s DA-PCC, in collaboration with the Sta. Catalina Multi-Purpose Cooperative opened multiple facilities in North Cotabato that developed a complete buffalo dairy value chain.
The Dairy Roadmap 2020 to 2025 includes the CBIN initiative, as well as the Coconut-Carabao Development Project and the school-based Milk Feeding Program led by the Departments of Education and Social Welfare and Development.
