On Thursday, the National Task Force (NTF) fighting Covid-19 let local government units (LGUs) extend their respective “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” campaigns until Friday.

According to the NTF advise, numerous LGUs have asked the National Vaccine Operations Center (NVOC) to prolong the three-day Covid-19 vaccination push since a “significant” number of people are still rushing to vaccination locations to get inoculated.

If any LGUs seeks to extend the vaccination period that began on November 29, they must notify the Centers for Health Development.

Similarly, the Regional and Local Vaccination Operations Centers (RVOC) are tasked with facilitating resource expansion and technical assistance.

They are also in charge of ensuring that sufficient vaccines are allocated and that auxiliary supplies are sent to the LGUs.

Meanwhile, the NVOC has yet to give an official figure of vaccine throughput from Monday to Wednesday’s three-day “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” immunization program.

The government planned to distribute 9 million doses of coronavirus vaccines around the country at 8,000 inoculation locations.
