The World Trade Organization (WTO) has launched a trade information tool for SMEs.

The World Trade Organization (WTO) inaugurated the Trade4MSMEs website on Thursday, a tool aimed at assisting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in locating trade-related information and improving their international trade capabilities.

The Trade4MSMEs portal (https://trade4msmes.org/) was also created to aid policymakers and researchers in developing policies that are specifically tailored to the needs of small businesses.

The WTO’s Informal Working Group on Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises has unveiled a new website that will allow small enterprises to access a wide range of trade data gathered from various sources.

MSME Resources and Policymaker Resources are the two main components of the website.

MSME Guides and MSME Library are two sections of MSME Resources.

The MSME Guides area offers important information about the procedures businesses must take before exporting or importing goods or services, such as how to analyze the export potential of the markets they are targeting and their readiness to export.

It outlines the important trade paperwork that enterprises must have in order to export or import goods into various markets, as well as the contractual and intellectual property concerns that must be considered, as well as logistics and transportation choices.

Small businesses can also utilize the instructions to learn how to get trade financing, use digital tools effectively, and deal with potential trade disputes.

Trade-in goods, trade-in services, intellectual property, contractual disputes, digital technologies and trade, access to finance, capacity building, and regional trade agreements are among the themes covered by the MSME Library.

The Policymaker Resources section includes the Policymaker Guides and Policymaker Library, which provide information for policymakers, government officials, and researchers, as well as an overview of significant concerns for MSMEs and best practices.

The website features links to data sources for analytical purposes, as well as information on worldwide and regional programs directed at MSMEs.

According to the WTO, the platform was built with financial assistance from the United Kingdom, with additional financing coming from Canada.

The Global Trade Helpdesk, the International Chamber of Commerce and its Centres for Entrepreneurship, the International Trade Center, and Google are among the current partners.

In the following months, more collaborations will be formed.
